Hi, question. I have a clock which had an extension from the rear which looks like a net curtain wire and was broken. I unscrewed it thinking I could remove the back of the clock but have a problem. If you look at the pic where the screwdriver is. It has a stubby metal part with a hole, which cant been seen in pic. Does this unscrew? and in which direction? I cant get the clock back off because this is to thick. Any ideas guys? Thanks. Need to clean and oil trip as it is getting stuck.

It'a a push fit and held in place with a tiny split pin or locking wire. It could be that a bit of the split pin is still inside the hole and stopping it coming out. If it looks ok and clear, use a bit of heat and oil andgently lever it off.

Not really electrical but what the heck.

Thank you Gordon. All fixed now. The trip cog was bent and fell off when I got the extension off, it was rusted on like you said. Bit of filing and straightening and fixed it back on. Thank you
