hi everyone just been offered a 1969 750 and spotted this on one side of the engine any ideas what would cause it top end ? bottom end?
if the fins that are behind the spark plug are gone might just be the picture though wating to find out 
or anything it points to check out when I go to look at it.

Looks like someone has made a subtle modification to the head to make it easier to fit the spark plug or cap. Haven't seen anything like that before.
