I will be going to the AGM, I will also be at the secretary's meeting on the Saturday. I've been out on my new anniversary Sport today, 55 miles for a short run from Tamworth, up through Lichfield, Rugely by-pass then on past Great Hayward, turn and run past the Staffordshire showground, then back to Tamworth, Just got back in time to miss the rain. Happy days.
Cheers Big Al, Shenstone branch Secretary

U missed the first arrivals by minutes, & a real treat of a JPS F1 Rotary that sounded like a formula 1 car, 9 x961,s altogether but not all at once , for some it was a 300 to 400 mile round trip ,hence the lunch time arrival

Dear Richard and co.,

The Leicestershire and Northampton Branch of the Norton Owners Club would be delighted to host the next gathering of Commando 961 owners and machines.  We have an Open Day at The Wharf Inn, Welford, 1 mile north of junction 1 of the A14 (that's the M6 end of the A14) on Sunday 13th May.  Our venue is fairly central in the English Midlands.  The pub will be open all day (Open Day runs from 11am to around 3pm); excellent food and good company is guaranteed.  There's a voucher for a free cup of tea or coffee for anyone arriving on a Norton.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending and we will ensure that there is a separate area for your machines.

Best wishes, Colin Cheney, Leicestershire.

Hi ya Colin, I’ve thrown this in the ring to my 961 chums & the response has been pretty swift & positive,we would love to join ur Norton Knees up , some of us may be travelling 200 miles to the pub/ venue , & numbers atm are several , so will keep u in the loop , I will start a new thread regarding this later on in an attempt to attract more interest, like owners of any Norton, some are not members of NOC or ACCESS NORTON or any club at all , so we will keep plugging , many thanks again Richard

Thanks for the kind invite - I am based in the Midlands and hope to be able to come along. I think lot of 961 owners are still a bit cautious the reception they may get from traditional Norton folk so this can only be a good thing for the marque.

Kindest Regards,

Clive

It was good to join you all last Saturday and glad you liked the pictures.

It was the first AGM I had been to so had no idea what to expect. Thought Tim Harrison did a fine job chairing the meeting and he was certainly on the ball.

All nominations for Officers or the Club were carried.

Finances are in a healthy position and the accounts were well presented by Nicole Hill.

Peter Scatchard reported that there are 29 Branches in the UK nut there are still areas under represented.

A couple of items raised in AOB one regarding future AGMs and whether the Executive Committee should aim to make Donington Hall the permanent home for the AGM. The EC had planned to have the AGM there bi-annually and on the alternate years to have either a Northern or Southern location. This would give the opportunity for different members to attend. After a very close vote it was decided to go with the EC's original plan although this will be reviewed occasionally.

There was some discussion on whether the Road Holder should go to A4 format but it was decided to leave it at A5.

The Emergency Aid list which was produced a number of years ago will not be reinstated as it was felt many riders have breakdown cover included in their insurance cover.

Communications to the Branch Secretaries will also be sent to another nominated Branch member if required.

Stuart Garner addressed the meeting and is still planning a 50 years of the Commando celebration in September. He also talked about the V4 which is due out soon.

This is a brief resume and I am sure the minutes will be available at a later date.
