Jubilee centre stand spring location

Posted by colin_ross at September 26. 2014

Hi there. I wonder if someone can help me. I bought a Norton Jubilee which had been partly restored but unfortunately with bits from other bikes. I have managed to source most bits but it had the wrong centre stand. I got a stand for it but I don't know where the spring goes. I have found out it is a plate of some kind but where could I get one, thankyou, Colin.

Hi there,

Try the NOCShop.  The part you probably want is called the anchor arm.

The club spares has new ones of these in stock as well as the spring itself.  There may be two types -the earlier type from 1959 to 1963 and a later version.

Hopefully, the info you need is here in the attached sheet. (Apologies about the quality of the artwork - the artist has been shot).

'Early' relates to Jubilees & Navigators prior to eng/frame no 106838. 'Late' refers to machines after 106838 & all Electra.

The Centre Channel on the 'late' models has the lower rear engine mounting slotted & re-inforced.

Well done Patrick, You have saved me from lunacy. I have a Std Jubilee I am restoring. It came with the stand just hanging down with a large spring attached and nothing else. I could see it probably needed a flat metal hook of some kind but could not see a place on the frame to fit it. Your drawings have solved my problem.

Thanks to you and the NOC.

Regards Chris.
