toughmiles.com

I have published this website address as my son and his friend are currently travelling around the world by motorcycle. They are currently in South Korea after completing the first leg across East & West Europe including Mongolia and Russia where they completed part of the infamous BAM route (google it or check the website). They have now sent the bikes to Canada where they will pick them up and ride from Alaska down to the tip of Argentina.

I hope this proves interesting to the Norton Owners club members.

They do have a sponsored charity and are over half way to achieving their target so if you like the blogs a few pounds would be gratefully received.

I admire the effort and can appreciate the fun the riders must be having, but I'm sure there would be more interest among Norton Owners Club members if the bikes has been Nortons and not Suzukis.

Hi Colin,

I don`t know if you have read any of the blogs on the website but if you have a look at blog No7 I think you will agree that to achieve what they have done on a Norton would be a major feat. The choose of bike was down to weight verses power hence the 400cc Suzuki.

I am now 66yrs old and built my Norton from parts when I was 18yrs old so the bike is part of the family and will go to my son (who is my youngest) when I pop my clogs as they say thereby introducing some new life into the club.

Best Regards

Hi Eric

Very impressive stuff. I'd love the chance to have a go at something like that! I'm 22 and currently building my first Norton. I hope I will be able to hold onto it for as long as you have!

Collin. Nurturing people's interest in bikes is the only way you will get them involved. Turning your nose up to them because its a suzuki instead of a Norton will push them away faster than anything and they will never get involved. My first bike was a Suzuki, then my dad let me have a ride on his BSA and I was hooked. Now I have a norton. Embrace the fact they like motorcycles and work from there :).
