Arbuthnot trial

I am not sure if 80 miles of green lanes is classed as "longer distance" but it certainly felt like it.

On 6th Sept. we entered this trial with the 500T sidecar outfit. There were seven Nortons entered; six 500Ts and a model 18 out of a total entry of seventy six mostly rigid framed bikes.

There were only about five miles of tarmac during the whole day, some of the tracks were only just wide enough for a sidecar outfit (or were after we had forced our way through!) There were also observed sections so we had avery tiring day but thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. There is a bit of background on the trial on the Salisbury club website.

Here is a link to some photos taken by the rider of the prewar Panther trials 350:

Hope you enjoy these.

They didn't make the sidecars climb that terraced hill did they? It would be somewhat rough to say the least!

Good effort! 80 miles over that sort of terrain deffinately classes as long distance in my book! Looks like a great day out, I don't really have a suitable bike though. Not yet anyway...

The sidecars turned right immediately efter entering the section, if you look closely the blue marker is visible, the followed the gully up with a left and then right turn, finishing at about the same point as the solos.

The way down was back the way we had gone up!
