Oil filter head

Forums

I have a  filter kit  ,bought many years ago  for the 99 , No idea where from.  But would have been one of the usuals.   I did not fit at the time as it did not have the correct fixings  or right size pipes (probably a Commando kit)   ,threw it in the junk pile in disgust. Now thinking of fitting it. I understand that some were prone to the pressed in pipes falling out. Is there any way of ID ing the Faulty units or fixing the issue.?.  Thinking a couple of grub screws tapped into the body.

My filter head decided it did not love one of its pipes anymore and tried to part company with it. I glued mine back in place using Araldite but Gorilla Glue is also a good option. However, first I did a lengthy degrease and then scored both the metal pipe ends and their sockets inside the head. When I refitted the filter head I made certain that there was no pull on the fittings. The next oil/filter change proved the success of the fix as nothing dropped off and there were no leaks.
