Exhaust valves

Forums

When I replaced the exhaust system I took a few pictures of the exhaust valves. Any observations or comments on their condition appreciated.

Oil seals and rings all doing a good job.  Mixture  a bit weak?.A bit of corrosion on the stem, been out of use for a good time?,  Been running on water collected by that loverly ethanol.?. Try a little upper cylinder lube in the fuel to keep the good things happy?. Bet your oil stays nice and clean between changes. Wish mine did!.

They look perfect to me, wish I could get mine to run as clean as mine are always black, sooty and oily.

Still fighting with the Amal’s. This was effectively a barn find in the USA so correct not run for a very long time. I am using miller’s fuel additive.

Not sure what you're concerned with here - they look great to me. Agree with other reviewers that it might be running a touch lean?  Aim for khaki brown (but not black/sooty) deposits.
