1927 Norton 16h flat tank ex Dr George Cohen £10,500 Wilmslow

Hi everyone here we have my re advertised 1927 Norton 16H an incredibly rare opportunity to purchase an awesome piece of Norton History.

unfortunately the 77 year old gent who I held the bike for was unable to kickstart her due to his frailty. Videos can be provided of cold starts :)

She’s for sale due to my dads stage 3b/4 prostate cancer more surgeries he’s due and a house downsize together.

So she’s got some amazing history previously owned by the one and only Doctor Norton George Cohen the one who wrote the book flat tank Norton,

In 98 years she’s only had 3 owners before me is all records matching bar the magneto, the factory record is present in the Noc records and I have a copy from Chris Streather.

I actually purchased her from another Norton Owners Club member.

Paperwork wise she’s got all the original manuals, brochures etc, most importantly she’s got her original logbook, I’ve even got insurance documents from the First owner which is amazing to see and the letter you got when you purchased one new,

She runs an the absolutely brilliant Castrol R, which has all been changed this week for new oil, and always done regularly these run a total loss system and maintain a set amount in the sump with the semi automatic best and Lloyd pump a really great system.

These 1927 flat tank Nortons do not come around often as they were only made to this spec for a couple of years, with the much improved front brake, separate oil tank and improved oil pump, they are terrific to ride will keep up with modern traffic as you will see in my videos and sometimes even pass it!

These sidevalve Nortons gave a great showing at the Isle of Man TT through the 1920s and in all the ACU reliability Trials and at Brooklands creating the legacy we all came to know as Norton.

The magneto was fully rebuilt in 2022 by Steve Marks at the Magneto Guys.

The inside of the engine is incredibly original, rod and piston both present in fact the entire bike really is a survivor, the only incorrect parts being the 1924 rear bags and the basket on the back, easily removable for that sporting look.

In closing she’s an absolutely terrific vintage Norton, she would look great pride of place in any collection, static or taking part in the runs (the previous owner completed the Banbury run on her) or ridden and enjoyed like I have,

It took me many years to find this bike and there havnt been any since on the open market bar one that went at auction at 17k a few years back.

I myself am into her for 16k

So price wise I’m asking £10,500 no offers. If she doesn’t go at that again I’ll be keeping her.
