Norton 16H 1927 terrific history. £12,000
- Location: Cheshire
Hi team so the 1927 Norton 16H flat tank vintage motorcycle is officially for sale she’s got terrific history there’s no way I’d be selling this if it wasn’t for my dads health, who I’m caring for who has stage 3b/4 prostate cancer as I’m funding us through living costs with his next surgeries relating to his prostate cancer, an a house downsize,
As a 36 year old enthusiast who’s owned and ridden Nortons for 16 years, I’d bought her to be my forever bike unfortunately life has had other plans for me and my dad’s care has to come first.
I purchased her through NOC from a fellow club member back in 2021. Who completed the Banbury run on her and I’ve rode her alot after having the mag rebuilt via Steve Marks absolutely terrific riding bike with incredible documentation
So the history 3 previous owners on the logbook since 1927! overall before me including ownership by DR George Cohen aka Norton George an has his stamp on the engine to, who literally wrote the book on them,
She’s all records matching bar the magneto which was rebuilt by Steve Marks last year, I’ve been in the engine an it’s all original rod size etc, such a terrific bike, I even have the original grips which I removed for safe keeping, all the stuff that was an option on the factory record is here,
An I’m sure you will agree she’s got a beautiful patina an hasn’t been over restored, the tool bags are of a 1924 as the design is ever so slightly different,
The best bit is she runs and rides at a terrific pace and I’ve ridden her a fair bit myself since she’s been in my ownership, what always amazes me is the handling of these 1920s Nortons absolutely superb
Paperwork wise, I have the original logbook, original manuals, for the bike, for the gearbox, for the Amac carb, original sales brochures, original insurance documents from the original owner, original letter for the motorcycling magazine when you bought one new, factory record from Chris and a few other interesting bits,
Now price wise that’s with all her paperwork I honestly think it’d be harder to get a better documented bike, I’m into her for 16k so I’m asking £12,000 GBP
For additional photos and images of the paperwork please contact footage of her being ridden can be provided
Feel free to pop me a message for images or information or any questions.
