Roadholder 364 - April 2018
27 Surrey branch games night Anthony Curzon The Surrey Branch welcomed the members of the Surrey Velocette Owners Club to our games in January. We have had many games nights in the past with the VOC, and they now use the same venue as us as their own Club’s monthly meeting place. We had about 43 members from both Clubs at this event and the room was packed. The pub's catering staff supplied food and the VOC generously agreed to pay half the cost. It was an amazing night, with all the games that were provided by both Club's members. The NOC Surrey Branch have won the last few games nights but the VOC won this this time by eight to seven. Their Chairman, Dave Catt, was presented with the trophy with congratulations from our own Chairman, Mike Petryszyn. This trophy was constructed by our painter and sculpture ‘extraordinaire’: Dave Gibson. Steve Eccleshall arrived on his new Norton 961 but, as it was a very cold night, he was the only one who came on a bike. It must have been a cold return ride home for him as the temperature went down to just two degrees or less! I'd like to thank all those who brought along their games for this event, and those who helped with the running and organising of it all! The winning Velocette Team Ever thought about taking your Norton around some of the UK’s best circuits? Well thanks to the Norton Owners Club you can. We have teamed up with the CRMC (Classic Racing Motorcycle Club) to allow a limited number of tickets to take part in their Track Parades. There are two types of parade lap sessions available: PR5 - FREE TO ALL MEMBERS: These track sessions are provided at no cost and are run under ACU Parade regulations i.e. suitable protective clothing (one or two piece leathers) must be worn. Machines must be fully road legal (no race bikes). Also remember that these are ACU-regulated spectator track parades. All riders must remember to bring driving licence, insurance certificate, MoT, road tax receipt and NOC membership card. Members over 70 will need to complete an ACU parade license application form costing £10.00, please advise at time of enquiry if this is required. PR6: The Race (PR6) Parades are charged for per entry, which includes insurance. Bikes and rider clothing are more stringently scrutineered than for the Spectator Parades ie. One-piece leathers only. All riders must remember to bring driving licence and NOC membership card.
