Membership of the Norton Owners Club
Founded in 1959, the Norton Owners Club is now an international organisation with several thousand members worldwide.
It is dedicated to the worldwide promotion, encouragement and development of an interest in Norton motorcycles, their preservation and usage
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in Norton motorcycles. You do not have to own a Norton to belong, but if you do, the Club offers numerous benefits as shown below.
Anyone wishing to join can sign up on-line to the Club directly via this web site. Memberships are 1-yearly or 5-yearly and can be for individuals or for two joint members.
As an existing member you can renew your subscription to the Club directly via this web site when your current membership is due to lapse. Continuation of lapsed memberships and supply of back numbers of Roadholder is at the discretion of the Membership Secretary.
For those interested in the social life of the clubroom and taking part in activities on a local scale, there are 29 UK Branches, 8 Overseas Branches, and a total of 6 Liaison Officers in various other countries.
All members receive 12 copies a year of Roadholder, our 48-page colour magazine which contains technical articles, members' letters, reports of recent Norton events, details of forthcoming events, NOC merchandise, and free advertising for sales and wants.
The Club and Branches organise a number of events throughout the year, provide stands at the major shows in the UK calendar, organise the annual Summer Party and Norton Day, a National Rally and an International Rally.
Technical matters are covered in three ways -
- A considerable amount of information is on the Technical Pages of this web site
- Anyone can join the web site forums where mainly technical issues relating to Nortons are regularly discussed
- Additionally, NOC members have direct access to the Technical Advice Team, each member of which has specific expertise in a Norton type
The Club has arrangments with other organisations who offer discounts and other benefits to NOC Members. These include motorcycle insurance.

The Club Librarian has access to many of the publications on Nortons together with other advertising and archive material which will be of interest to members.
Records & Machine Dating
The Club offers its UK Members assistance with applications to DVLA for retention of original registration numbers or assignment of suitable registration numbers where this is not possible. It can supply Norton factory records information to Overseas members who are registering their machines with their own authorities. There is a machine dating service for which a charge will be made.
The Club runs NOCShop, an on-line shop where you can purchase NOC merchandise, technical books and DVDs, clothing and a range of accessories.
