Losing text

Posted by richard_payne at October 23. 2011

There seems to be a problem with the message board in that over the last week or so, I have on three occasions posted a reply, only to see it disappear with a red 'fault' box indicating that I must insert text which is precisely what I've just done !

It doesn't always diappear, but often enough to be irritating after composing a reply.

I know that some of you will regard this as a good thing, but if it carries on, I'm going to stop trying...So There !

Just had that as well Rich, the system actually deleted a mail saying you left your anorak in the bar at the Begonia (after you well answered handlebar query) Ho hum, just like Nortons, you just never know when something will dissapear!!

It can't be mine Gino, I'd never forget it. It has a pocket full of rivets that I count like worry beads.

I'm not quite sure that I understand your comment about disappearing parts. Do you mean like Commando  camshaft lobes or do you mean like 16H valve guides ?

The reason that the poor old clunker didn't make it to the Begonia was that the exhaust valve couldn't find its seat any more.

...1100 miles on this guide...

Ah the high tech oval valve guide, just like the NR750 from Honda, em no that was pistons, see Norton designed stuff along these lines long before Mr H! Cant understand why you'd bring that old thing when you have a pefectly acceptable Commando anyway :)
