Impossible to order a Gearbox Servicing DVD on-line

Posted by john_francis at November 30. 2011

Hello

Hopefully I’ve contacted the correct person(s)? – if not could you please forward this message for me?

I’ve been trying for ages now to order a Norton Gearbox Servicing DVD on-line. At first there was no “add to cart” icon – I logged out, logged in and suddenly it was there. Followed purchasing steps but then stumbled because the system wouldn’t allow me to identify a mailing area. Logged out, logged in to try again – this time I’m back to square one i.e. no “add to cart”.

I’ve since tried several times to no avail – getting quite frustrated because I really do need to get hold of this DVD – please help!

Thankyou, John

Hi, just tried it out and seems to be working OK for me! Suggest you double check you are logged in as it did log me out at one stage between trying the various options.

Best of luck with your gearbox problem.

Regards, Bob.

Perhaps a silly question, I take it you are a current member and used your correct member logn?

PS Worked for me too.

Further - logged out and it still worked as if I am not a current member. NOC Shop sells to non members anyway.

Hi,

As far as I was aware the NOC Shop is ONLY for members, this is one of the benefits of membership. The 'Add To Cart' Icon should not appear unless you are logged in.

I have just been through the process but stopped at the last moment without problems.

Regards

Tony

  • Some NOCShop products are for Members only and some can be purchased by anybody
  • If you do not log in to the web site you may be prevented from buying some Member-only product
  • If you do not log in to the web site you may pay a higher price for a product than you should

Regarding the non-appearance of the Add to Cart logo, this is a glitch that happens with some computers and can usually be solved as follows:-

  1. Go to the page where the Add to Cart should be there, but is not
  2. Hold down the Control key on your computer keyboard and at the same time press the F5 key

This clears the cache and forces the page to reload from scratch.  In 90% of cases, the Add to Cart will now appear.

If this does not work, contact me and I will refer the error to the web site designers.

Should have added that the first two items on the Books and Videos page have the “add to cart”icons and I could go all the way to purchase if I so wished – it’s just the thing I want to buy that doesn’t.

Tried your suggestion – made no difference

Thanks, John

PS - I am a Member and I have been using the correct log-in procedure.

Hi John

This is interesting, as if what you say is true, you will be the first person with this problem who hasn't been able to solve it by clearing their Browser cache as Chris Grimmett suggests above. Perhaps you could call me using the telephone number on my email to you recently and we could go through the process? Much appreciate your help to the club in this respect.

Peter
