Error 5503 no ability to post for weeks
Up to Website Suggestions
Robert,
The error you are seeing is No. 503. It signifies that the server is busy and cannot display the page. It is usually only very temporary. If it happens again, click on the Refresh symbol on your browser to reload the page and most likely, it will all appear.
If you cannot type text into a message, that is a different issue. See the Help pages of this web site, Item No.7.

Chris this 503 is getting worst and the bold button does not hold on , these thing are more important to members than taking off or locking threads of that we have put hours on doing research on it. and hours writing it on the thread only to have it wiped out by you? This is one of the things that make members leave the club. there is very little freedom on what you can write on this forum ,negative feed back is just as good as positive feed back on a forum. But it seem to me that you in the EC do not like seeing anything negative on this forum . perhaps you like too lock this out too. yours AJD
Anna, I will try to answer your points:-
- ● The postings you make to the message boards contain HTML code that is, frankly, a mess. I do not know what you do when you send messages, but if I have the time, I have to edit them all. There is nothing wrong with the bold command - it does not hold on because I remove it. I do not see why your comments should be in bold text when everyone else's is in normal text.
- ● We have communicated privately on the actions I will take with regard to off-topic postings. Think on this before you spend more hours on your researches.
- ● The Club is very lenient, perhaps too lenient, in what it allows to be posted on these boards. I would disagree strongly that you have very little freedom in what you can post. I have told you before the rules about what we will and will not allow.
- ● I will usually lock a thread only if it is a Webmaster notice posting, if it has become very long, if it becomes abusive, or if it breaks any of the other rules.
- ● We are still working on the annoying Error 503.
- ● Lastly, you might be surprised at the number of e-mails I receive asking me to be more active in editing/locking/deleting threads. This is particularly where people use the facility to pursue private arguments or as a platform to inflict their own very limited personal interests on the rest of the readership.

I agree with you Chris, there has to be some control, I have found this site very useful for resolving technical issues. However sometimes it is annoying when totally irrelevant random nonsense gets posted. Regardless if which(witch) sex it's posted by.
