primary transmision wanted

Posted by mark_collinson at September 18. 2010

Greetings to all. My name is Mark Collinson, known at Thames Valley Branch as "Kiwi".

I am building a cafe racer based on a Commando 750 engine. I require a number of goodies, please...

I am seeking a primary transmission to complete an engine assembly. I currently possess a reconditioned Norton Commando 750 engine (formerly a 1972 Combat model), with a bare shaft exiting the left side to the primary transmission and therefore no engine sprocket and so forth. I do possess a clutch, pulley and triplex chain, plus a gearbox and engine plates. It seems that I require an inner and outer chain case, along with all else which goes in it.

I would also like at this stage a pair of carburettors, as it may be easier to fit them on the block before it goes in the frame.

I possess a Dominator narrowline featherbed frame, front wheel with disc brakes, forks and rear with shocks. It is a rolling chassis, which awaits its engine. Offers for further parts eg fastback seat would be considered.

The Thames Valley Boys are growing sick of hearing me swear that "I will build this project one of these days", so please help them more than you will little old me, by passing any for sale messages of the above items to mark_collinson4@hotmail.com  I would be prepared to travel to collect, or pay postage, within reason.

It is my first Norton project and advice would be gratefully received as well. (with thanks to the Thames Valley Branch for theirs given already)

Safe riding, Kiwi.
