Kelvin,

Try Demon Tweeks (or any motorsport website) There are quite a few options with this type of fitting so you may have to shop around for the exact ones you need.

Good luck

Steve

Hi, i am still getting no where with the correct type fitting, there must be a million different dzus fittings but not what i am looking for, can anyone help me with some originals, or some measurements of the correct ones.

Thank you.

Have you looked at 'Oddie' 1/4 turn fasteners. These were in common use in the early 60's and may be what you need. A good description and selection are available here: http://www.burtonbikebits.net/Oddie%20studs.htm

Hope this helps,

Steve

Hi chaps and chapesses,

THE place to go for all things Dzus is here:- LAS Aerospace Ltd, Exeter Road Industrial Estate, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1UA.
tel: 01837 658081 - fax: 01837 658080 - web: www.lasaero.com.

Dzus fasteners were invented primarily for aircraft and "borroweed" by the motor trad.  Luckily they are still used on aircraft!  They are cheap and come certificated - just in case you want/need to use them on your plane!  I don't think the Certificate will help you if you crash your bike though!

Navigator and Jubilee side panels need A6-35 fasteners.  Probably the same goes for De Luxe Dommies.

Cheers, Lionel

Hi Lionel, thanks for the info, what a great web site. They seem to list all the parts i need. I have emailed for the prices of the parts i need. I have a parts list and a workshop manual, i have the engine in a million pieces, still having a problem getting the crank out of the timing side crankcase the oil pump drive is off, but the crank wont move, time for a big hammer.

Cheers Kelvin.

Hi Kelvin, please don't take a hammer to your crankcases before you take the small timing pinion from the end of the crankshaft. you will need a puller, the standard norton/triumph one will do (the one with the sliding sleeve), which I have seen on ebay lately; maybe the club spares may stock it!

Thanks Lionel for the Dzus info - been searching for Dzus info for quite some time.

Cheers Derek.

Hi again - their prices are on the listings - e.g. http://www.lasaero.com/site/products/article?id=A020X29YL

I have the Navi/Jubilee parts book which tells you the Dzus number.  The main one is as I listed, but I can help with any others you need.  Just ask!  I think you'll find LAS are miles cheaper than any other bike sapres firm.

Cheers, Lionel

PS. If the fastener isn't actually listed on the main Dzus page just enter the code number in "Search".  E.g. A6-35 is 41p each - all prices are plus VAT of course.

Cheers, Lionel

Hi Kelvin

Any chance of an update on your order for the Dzus fasteners. I ask because my next project is a Navigator Del of 1961 vintage.( you may recall my search for a rear mudguard last year.I have not yet found one but I have bought a new universal rear guard which can be fashioned to fit)The Navi has a peg type seat and requires a Dzus fitting to secure it in place.I have the part numbers from the spare parts list so I should be able to use the Web site recommended by Lionel but it does help to learn from the experience of others.

Kind Regards

Stan

Hello Stan, sorry for the late reply. I ordered the dzus fasteners from the web site Lionel suggested, they were very helpful and answered my email very quickly, i know when i looked at my parts list the seat fixing listed was far too long so i ordered a shorter one, to be honest i havnt fitted all the dzus fasteners, i tried a rough fit in the panle and it looked fine, i bought the new rear springs and rivets as well, they are all very cheap.

Cheers Kelvin.
