Posted by kelvin_potter at December 18. 2010

Hi i am getting on with my Jubilee, i have stripped the forks so i can replace the seals, are the fork bushes pressed on or soldered on, i can see any other way of replacing the seals other than removing them, i havnt found a new pair of seals yet, i am unsure what they call these forks, but they arnt road holder, any help would be great. Cheers Kelvin(Isle of man)

I believe they're the same forks AMC used on the Fanny Barnett Falcon if that's any help Kelvin.

Hi Howard, i have sent a few emails out, so hopefully i can get sorted, do you know if the fork bushes have to be removed to get the new seals on.

Cheers.

Sorry, can't help you with that - never needed to have mine apart, fortunately. Good luck with it but if you do run into problems try emailing Andy Sochanik as he'll certainly be able to advise you.

Hi Kelvin, the bushes are soldered on and you dont need to remove them to fit the seals. They are tight to go over the bushes, try putting the seals in a bowl of hot water to make them a bit more flexable first. Spray the bushes with wd40 to help the seals slide over. Best of luck.
