Lightweight headlight shell

Posted by colin_sharpe at August 04. 2010

My headlight shell is in a sorry state, but I think it can be recovered with some fabrication and welding..

The hole for the ignition switch has been hacked out, and a generic lock was put in.  I want to restore it to fit the standard Wipac switch.  Is the D shaped hole the same as the one for the light switch, or is it a mirror image?

The headlight was held on with bolts and nuts, U.N.F. (Ugh).  Should it have captive 5/16 B.S.C. captive nuts?

The bike is a 1964 Electra.

TIA for information.

Colin, trying for only one size of spanners to fit everything on the bike.
