Dommi 99 Chaincase Bolts

Posted by Peter Coates at June 08. 2017

My 1959 Dominator 99 has a non standard chain case, held on using only one of the existing four threaded mounting brackets using a smaller nut and bolt.

Could anyone tell me what is the size of the bolts and what thread size is tapped into these  brackets?

Thanks.

Are you talking about the rear chainguard?

I seem to remember losing these  set screws and finding  a box of  1/4 whit ones that were  left over from building contract , looked identical ,just needed cutting to length to clear the tyre. I'll check this out and if right you are welcome to a couple as I will have a box full.

Sorry Robert, as you will see Johnathan queried my post and yes I was referring to the Drive Chain Case I have measured the one bolt I have from the bike and it is about 5/16" x 2" 24TPI @ 1.0?

hope this is clearer. Peter.

Found my box of plated set screws,  took a couple out and tried them on my 59 (built )  99   and they fit although too long by at least an inch. The box says 6 x 70 so they are the metric equivalent to 1/4". They have a posidrive head the same as the orriginals ,always thought this a bit curious must be one of the first usages of posidrive on a Norton ,certainly dont remember any other posi heads on the bike.PM me if you want them.  BOB.
