Engine plates

Posted by Barry Carson at August 07. 2017

on my wideline frame i am putting together i notice on the rear engine plates there are holes inline with the Centre stand mounting bolts. should a bolt run through the Centre of the stand bolts to secure the engine plates at that point.

Hi Barry - the centre-stand pivot bolts have a central hole through them and this should align with those lower holes in your engine plates.  Bolts (with nuts and washers) should pass through to steady the whole set-up.  A note of caution here - don't tighten the nuts so tight that the stand pivot is stiff. Often people leave them out for this reason.  I use homemade spacers and locknuts to be sure.  Regards, Howard
