mudguard stays

Posted by adam_davis at August 29. 2010

Is there a supplier of 'made to order' mudguard stays that anyone knows of?  Is it a job that is do-able oneself with a bit of know-how? My 1950 plunger ES2 is missing the two individual long stays for the rear mudguard and I've drawn a blank so far on finding them. They look like just straight, simple tubes with a flattened end with a hole in it. Any advice welcomed!

Hi Adam,

Try Fred Williams Tel. 01234 824117.  He manufactures many parts for wideline models, including w/line front mudguard stays which are all straight with flattened ends with a fixing hole.  With the relevant dimensions of your rear stays he may be able to make some for you,

   Rob Gittins.

Thanks Rob, I've spoken to Fred Williams and he says .."no problem, give me the dimensions....". So thanks very much for the lead.
