Roadholder bushes and seals

Posted by gordon_smith at May 14. 2012

I'm overhauling the Roadholder forks on my 1957 ES2 and it's clear that I will need new bushes and seals. My illustrated parts list is proving useless as usual (the parts numbers used don't seem to correspond to any others in use!). Are all Roadholders fitted with the same seals and bushes or do they vary from type to type? I think I have long Roadholder forks (springs outside the stanchions). Could anyone help with the part numbers for the seals and bushes please?

Gordon, Norvil do a good "fork kit" that contains everything you need for a pair of forks (other than new stanchions if they are knackered). I have used these kits without any problems on a few sets of forks.

As you may know, Norvil are not the cheapest supplier but I think these kits are good value at £29.32 plus P&P.

Hi Gordon,

Your parts list uses the "old" numbers, Norvil offers a conversion book thats very inexpensive & gives the modern equivalent numbers. We are trying to get the book listed on this site in the near future. The

Thanks for the replies. I'll contact Norvil about the fork kit and parts numbers conversion book.
