Taillamp wiring

Posted by richard_tool at September 30. 2011

Can anyone tell me the correct routing of the taillamp wiring on my 1950 ES 2-plunger frame - Lucas MT 211 taillamp ? As purchased the wire enters the rear fender(mudguard) behind the toolbox then passes through 2 clips inside the fender and exits ahead of the removable tip section. From there it simply hangs out  in space with a threaded disconnect and then to the taillamp. This seems less than secure and certainly looks untidy- My thoughts were to fashion some sort of insulated clip to hold the disconnect which would be incorporated with the registration number plate fastening. Any help/ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks from across the pond-Richard
