Friend has a 499cc 30M Manx, Eng No.11M97287, Built 8/5/1961, Frame No.11M97287 built ?/4/1961. Purchased by Vic Horsham, ridden by Ray Fay, Purchased by him from John Wilkinson who was shot dead on his ship [in controversial circumstances] by Spanish Police.Can anyone supply any additional history?
Dear Terry, John was a very good friend of Harry and me from the time he came to Belfast and worked for Guards cigarettes in Murrays tobacco factory on the Linfield road. The Norton engine you speak of came to a stop due to the nut on the drive side shaft coming slack and it made the hole oval in the flywheel. I repaired the flywheel and got a new keway broached in the flywheel and then Harry trued the flywheels and built the engine for John. The name of Johns boat was the Hoxasound and John was shot in Allicante in spain,give me a ring or call up and I will bring you up to speed on things, Regards Ken.
