Model 50 Air Cleaner

Posted by michael_sullivan at August 10. 2010

The parts list for my 1961 Model 50 lists in the back pages an air cleaner pn:18684

Does anyone have one that could post a photo?

I cannot figure out how it would be mounted as the carb comes quite close to the oil tank.

Thanks

Mike

There was an intention by the factory to fit all the featherbed models with air cleaners. They would have fitted between the oil tank and the battery box, thats why there is a round hole between the two.How you were meant to maintain it I don't know,it would mean removing the battery box/tool tray each time,a job that would  be overlooked no doubt.Has anyone ever seen one or did it never happen?

That hole between the oil tank and the battery box might have worked on a twin but no way on a single.
