The 2012 End Of The World Rally in Vermont failed to deliver the expected apocalypse and so the International Norton Owners Association will be running another one in 2013.

NOC Members are invited to the 2013 Save a Horse (Ride a Norton) Rally in Buffalo, Wyoming. Buffalo is in the North-Central part of Wyoming, snuggled up against the East slope of the Bighorn Mountains. We are at 4500 feet which usually makes for warm days and cool evenings during the summer. Humidity is low.
We are in the heart of the old West and our area has been the inspiration for uncounted books and movies, from Owen Wister's, The Virginian, to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. In the 1860s and 1870s this was the land of Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Dull Knife, General Crook and George Armstrong Custer. A bit later the conflicts here turned to cattle and rustling. As the 1800s faded and the 1900 came in, the area sheltered bank and train robbers like The Wild Bunch. Now it's the perfect place to search for history and ride your Norton for a few days.
Another plus to this area is that we are smack in the middle of some of the country's premier National Parks and Monuments, not to mention some very nice local parks. We are within a few hours' drive from Grand Tetons N.P., Yellowstone N.P., Devils Tower N.M., Mt. Rushmore N.M., The Crazy Horse Memorial, The Little Bighorn National Battlefield, Deadwood, Sturgis and many more. It would be a great opportunity to plan a family vacation with some motorcycle riding thrown in for good measure!
The 2013 rally will be a little different from past rallies in that there is no local club putting it on. This rally will be directly sponsored by the INOA. We hope to be getting some assistance from some of the closer chapters and individuals.

The NOC Members who attended the Norton Empire Rally in 2011 will tell you that the INOA rally is a great event, attracting Norton enthusiasts from as far away as Europe, Australia and New Zealand. If you are thinking of going to the United States, then timing your visit to incorporate this rally is a must.
Tim Harrison, NOC Chairman is putting together plans for shipping bikes out to the USA for this rally. NOC Members will recall that Tim did the work behind shipment of Nortons to the INOA Rally in 2011 and that he now has experience of how to make it all happen.
This time round, the arrangement will not involve the Club as such; instead it will be jointly funded and run by whoever wishes to go and take a bike with them. As before, it will most likely be on the basis of delivering the machines to the freight handler (probably in Aldershot) in June and getting them back again in late August. The cost of shipping will probably lie in the range of £600 - £750 per machine, depending on the number of people who go. Delivery of the bikes will be into the East coast with a ride across to the rally site; alternatively, bikes could be shipped by road to the rally site itself.
The offer is open to anyone, NOC Member or otherwise, and the machine does not have to be a Norton. If you are interested, contact Tim Harrison for more information.
